Most kids today don’t play outside like generations past. Technology keeps them indoors and more sedentary than in the past.
Help is hand so your kid will never be wondering "How Can I Lose Fat?"
1. Change the way they think about food:
The Trim Kids plan teaches parents and children how to change the way they think about food. They learn to make healthier choices without the food becoming gross and tasteless. Kids soon learn that veggies do not have to be slipped under the table to the family dog. Veggies can actually taste very good.
2. Weight loss starts naturally:
With this new knowledge the kids will start losing weight naturally. They learn how to enjoy exercise. They also learn that exercising with family members is great fun. As they lose weight, their confidence rises as well.
3. Twelve Week program:
The Trim Kids diet plan is a twelve week program. Parents have to be really involved for this plan to work. The whole family has to do the tough thing and say no to fast food, meals out of a can, and unhealthy snacks. Without parental involvement and encouragement the kids will return to their old eating habits in no time.
4. No food is restricted:
Because they are kids, no food is restricted. Kids don’t do well with too many limits. The important thing is portion control. It is very easy to overeat when you are sitting in front of the TV or the computer. To prevent overeating on snacks, snacks can be repackaged into snack bags so that only a single serving is eaten at any one time. I've tried this with my granddaughter and it works very well.
5. Explain the plan to them:
Parents should guide the kids with this plan as it will be fatal to try and dictate to them. Teaching the kids the reason why certain foods are not good for them, helps to make the process understandable to the kids. If the kids know why they shouldn’t eat sugary and high fat foods, they can apply this knowledge everywhere. This helps them when they have to make choices at school, at the mall, and eating out with the family.
6. Get them moving:

Physical activity is stressed on the Trim Kids plan. Unless the kids get active, the weight will stay on. Kids think of exercise as boring and hard. It is up to the parent to introduce the children to exercises that take into account the age of the child, activity level, and the kids weight. Starting out slow is the way to create a lasting plan. Don’t stick to one exercise or activity as they will become bored – instead, choose several.
I have had a lot of success with my granddaughter by making a fun game of the exercise. She is only five and does not even realize that she is doing exercises. Running after a ball, playing with "ouma's" weights and many other activities has her doing exercises without noticing it.
7 The whole family will benefit:
Parents will lose weight and develop healthy eating habits as well on the Trim Kids plan. It is important that losing weight becomes a family affair. For the plan to be successful, everyone has to adopt healthier habits that will last a lifetime.
Once the program is over, kids have learned how to choose food, get more exercise, and feel good about themselves. As the weight starts coming off, the kids will want to do more of what they are doing and lose more weight. Trim Kids is a lifestyle change program and not just the diet of the moment.
